Static Electricity occurs when different fabrics rub against each other. This can create static charges of 10,000 volts or more - sufficient to damage sensitive electronic equipment or create sparks that can lead to safety hazards and quality problems. The Anti-static Mats absorb built-up static charges caused by everyday foot traffic and these are dissipated into the atmosphere reducing static to safe levels.
